Christmas Concert with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice

The Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice organized on Sunday December 13 2015 its traditional Christmas concert. But the programming of the first wasn’t traditional at all. The orchestra was joined by a multi-genre group Svítání and to cooperation were invited students of the Svítání School at Pardubice, which takes care of young people with special needs. The full auditorium praised their success with standing ovations.

Second half of the concert brought the traditional Czech Christmas Mass by Jakub Jan Ryba. This year we are celebrating 250th anniversary of this composer, who is the author of probably the most popular Christmas musical piece in the Czech Republic.

Debut of the Prague Spring Festival

"... Czech orchestras and ensembles prepared for the Prague Spring Festival 2014 many interesting programs. Perhaps the greatest attention aroused the Prague Symphony (18. 5.) when they stood behind the counter at the Smetana Hall in the "Prague Spring debut," Pavel Trojan junior. The young composer, conductor and actor was presented in a very ambitious program. Symphonic Poem In the Tatras Mountain Vitezslav Novak was not only the descriptiveness and urgency, but also convincing construction, ballet The Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky's all colorful variation and virtuosity and a composition titled Variations on a Theme and Death of Jan Rychlik by Otmar Macha brought clarity, gradation and mood. Neither the accompaniment of great pianist Roman Rabinoviche the Piano Concerto no. 2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff did not seem baffled or caution. It was the debut without any conducting competition win, with no previous appearances, that surprising, but it was not a mistake - on the contrary: generous opportunity that Trojan turned into a victory ... Prague Spring 2014 - the unforgettable debut

For this season “Debut of the Prague Spring Festival” was chosen broadly talented thirty-years old Pavel Trojan Jr. The opening of his admirable difficult concert programme was a symphonic poem by Vítězslav Novák In the Tatra Mountains. Trojan clearly mastered its sophisticated formal structure and polyphonic blocks. The very first entrance of the flute, English horn and vertical link of strings prepared a great contrast to the entrance of strongly accentuated figure. Trojan also proved a his conducting skills with pianist Roman Rabinovich. He attentively led the orchestra in Rachmaninov Second Piano Concerto to accompany the pianist and proved a great talent of balancing the sound of orchestra and soloist. Trojan, himself a composer, eruditely interpreted Otmar Mácha’s Variations on theme and death of Jan Rychlík. The result even surpassed all expectations. From the flute opening, continuing thru the complex orchestra flow to the preciously controlled aleatoric part. How excitedly I have consumed all these tiny details which assembled this great mosaic. Similarly excited I was after Trojan’s rendition of Stravinsky’s Firebird, which showed a very personal point of view - speaking of tempi and phrasing. I could highlight his work with woodwinds in the Introduction, lyricism of Rondo and Lullaby, clearly pronounced syncopation of the Koschei’s Dance with suggestive sudden pianissimi, or - the ecstatic finale. Conclusion: the unforgettable debut.
